Yoga, nature & a collective attempt to slow down

There are many ways to deal with modern exhaustion.

Some people buy a treadmill.Others change relationships. And then there are those who decide to spend six days doing yoga in the Portuguese countryside hoping to feel something other than stress, screen fatigue, and low-level existential confusion.

Honestly, it might be the healthiest option.

From June 27 to July 2, 2026, Nikkie Timney invites you to Terra Quinta for a 5-night, 6-day retreat dedicated to yoga, nature, and the increasingly radical act of slowing down.

Located just 30 minutes from Lisbon Airport, Terra Quinta feels like the collective fantasy people start describing after their third burnout-adjacent week:trees, silence, nourishing food, warm air, birds instead of traffic, and — perhaps most shocking of all — human beings not checking their phones every seven minutes.

The place was designed as a sanctuary. Not the kind where someone tells you you’re a cosmic goddess before breakfast. A real sanctuary. Quiet. Beautiful. Grounded. Alive.

You practice yoga. You breathe properly again. You eat vegetables grown in the garden. You walk barefoot. You rediscover your hips, your lungs, and occasionally your ability to sit still without refreshing your inbox.

Nikkie’s retreat is an invitation to reconnect with the body and the natural world. Not through performance or self-optimization. Nobody here is trying to become an enlightened productivity machine by sunrise.

The yoga is there to soften, strengthen, release, and awaken.Nature quietly takes care of the rest.

Because spending six days surrounded by olive trees, open skies, and birdsong has a surprisingly effective way of reminding people that most modern emergencies are not, in fact, emergencies.

And then something interesting usually happens around day three or four.

The nervous system finally stops acting like it’s being hunted for sport.

Shoulders drop.Breathing deepens.Faces soften.

Some people cry. Some sleep for twelve uninterrupted hours.Others discover they may actually have a personality outside their Google Calendar.

It’s beautiful to witness.

This retreat is for anyone longing for a pause — without needing to disappear into a Himalayan cave or sell all their possessions.

Just slow down.Move.Breathe.Eat well.Sleep deeply.Look at trees for an extended period of time.Return, gently, to yourself.

Which, these days, feels almost revolutionary.
